The premier BioMimetics Laboratories launch, Erasa XEP-30, exemplifies the power of biomimetics. XEP-30 is a next-generation neurotoxin mimetic that reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The basis of XEP-30 is a naturally-occurring neurotoxin produced synthetically by Activen.
While the power of neurotoxins in wrinkle reduction is well-documented, actualizing this potential into efficacious topical formulations is highly challenging. Our scientists collaborated with Activen researchers to modify the XEP base (XEP-18) resulting in a novel peptide (XEP-30) with greater potency, ideally suited to achieve superior results in a topical formulation and exclusively available to BioMimetic Laboratories.

JULIUS “JULES” ZECCHINO
Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of BioMimetic Laboratories
Jules Zecchino is the co-founder of BioMimetic Laboratories, its Chief Scientific Officer and the Chairman of the board of directors. Mr. Zecchino is also the founder of Skyler Brand Ventures, the premier independent R&D incubator in the cosmetics industry. He was previously Head of Skincare R&D at Estée Lauder for two decades, and responsible for the development of the company's top performing products in their multi-billion dollar segments. His team at SBV aims to build upon their impressive achievements by utilizing internal technologies as well as leveraging relationships with a number of scientific, corporate and academic affiliates who provide the adjunct technology and manufacturing necessary for product commercialization. He is an active member of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology, Society of Investigative Dermatology, CEW and SCC.
KONSTANTINOS "KONNIE" M. LAHANAS, PH.D
VP of Laboratory Operations for Skyler Brand Ventures
One of the best known formulators in the beauty industry, Dr. Lahanas is the VP of Laboratory Operations at Skyler Brand Ventures and has headed the Lahanas Group since 2008. Prior to that he was Manager of the Materials Science-New Venture Technology Group at Estée Lauder for 12 years, followed by 8 years as Director of Formulation Innovation at Limited Brands. He holds a Ph.D. & Masters in Physical Chemistry from Seton Hall University and a BSc. in Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He taught Chemistry as Adjunct Faculty at LIU for over a decade and holds numerous valuable category patents.
